We have provided a copy of our contract here so you can see how concerned we are for the wellbeing of our puppies. Each puppy goes to his/her new home with a signed contract and peace of mind for both ourselves and you. As you can see, we are very attached to our puppies for their entire lives. This contract is specifically for our Labrador Retrievers but the Gordon Setter one is identical...except for the breed name of course.

Description of dog: Show potential: _________ Companion: ___________ Sex: ________ Tattoo #: R2H _________ (location to be in the left ear) D.O.B. : __________________________________ Your bitch/dog is being sold to you as a healthy, happy canine of sound temperament. He/she is the result of selective breeding of champion heritage. He/she is an excellent representative of the breed. The buyer agrees to take care due to a pure-bred dog of top quality, providing adequate nutrition, shelter, medical care, etc., so as to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of the dog. All Posterity dogs are sold on a health warranty. This puppy has had a complete and thorough examination by our veterinarian and is warranted to be in a good, clean state of health upon departure from our kennel. The buyer is advised to have his/her veterinarian examine this puppy within seventy-two hours of departure from our kennel. If, for any reason, the buyer is not satisfied with the dog within this three day (seventy two hour) trial period, he/she may return it to our kennel at his/her expense, provided the dog is in the same condition as when sold. The buyer will receive a replacement puppy from the next litter or as soon as a suitable one becomes available. All veterinary bills incurred after departure from our kennel, no matter what the reason (and including the seventy two-hour trial period) are the responsibility of the buyer. It is understood that the buyer may not sell, donate, give away, co-own, destroy or part with this dog without the express, written consent of the seller/breeder. It is understood that companion dogs MUST be spayed/neutered by the age of 18 months of age unless express written consent is given by the breeder/seller to do otherwise. Male puppies are not to be neutered before the age of 12 months and females are not to be spayed before the age of 6 months. Final payment for this puppy will be a certificate of spay/neuter provided by the attending veterinarian. It is understood that companion dogs must not be used for breeding purposes unless express written consent is given by the breeder/seller. Should this occur, the buyer is liable for a fine of $500.00 (five hundred dollars) per puppy born/sired. This is to be paid to the breeder/seller at the time of the birth of said puppies.Posterity Kennel provides the following warranty on each dog sold: All dogs sold shall be free of crippling hip displasia (i.e., hip displasia rendering this dog unsuitable as a pet). All dogs sold shall be free of any genetic defect rendering it unsuitable as a pet. All dogs shall be of genetically sound temperament. If your dog shows any of the faults listed above within a five (5) year period from the date of it’s birth, and suitable evidence has been produced, the dog may be returned to the breeder/seller in good, clean condition at the buyer’s expense, together with the registration papers duly signed over to the breeder, and a cheque to cover the cost of the Canadian Kennel Club transferral fee. A dog of the same sex and quality will replace the original dog as soon as one becomes available. It is understood that this dog must, at all times, be fed natural adult dog food (those varieties containing no chemical additives, preservatives, sulphates, colourings or flavourings). Any different feeding protocol will render all warrantees null and void unless express, written permission from the breeder/seller is granted. The breeders request that all UPC codes and dated receipts be kept from bags of dog food as proof of type of food fed. It is understood that if this dog, at any time during it’s life, is deemed by the seller/breeder to be abused, neglected, mishandled or mistreated in any way, it will immediately become the property of the breeder/seller, complete with registration papers duly signed. In such a case, there will be NO compensation whatsoever to the buyer. The Buyer(s) release and agree to hold the breeders harmless from any and all liability for injuries or damages to person or property caused by the dog while in the possession or care of the Buyer(s). Posterity Kennel maintains an "open door" policy and we are always pleased to provide advice, information and assistance to our buyers. We are also pleased to hear from you and are ready to help with any assistance in the raising of our puppies and/or living with our dogs. It is understood that this agreement is legal and binding to all undersigned persons.
